Restoring Troubled Teens was created in an effort
to combat fraudulent and deceptive web sites operators
that prey on desperate parents who are seeking schools
or programs for their troubled teen. The web sites
that we are referring are easy to spot… they
use deceptive marketing practices hoping to dupe
uninformed parents into giving out their personal
information (name, address, phone numbers, name
of child, and problems the child is having) only
to see that information sold to admissions agencies
that pay handsome “finder fee’s (Better
known as kickbacks). These corrupt organizations
promote only the schools that offer incentives (another
kickback) and way too often kids end up on the short
end of the stick because they are placed in the
wrong school or program.
These deceptive Internet-based operators promise
access to school listings and other information,
however they trick parents into filling out “lead”
forms with the intentions of selling the private
information. In essence, these web sites are gathering
leads (parents personal information) to sell the
information to child placing agencies that then
help parents find a school. These agencies purport
to represent all schools (they masquerade as Educational
Consultants) and have the best interest of the
child in mind. In reality, these placing agencies
are really guises as they only refer schools that
pay the highest kickback.
Instead of receiving referrals to appropriate
schools and programs parents receive solicitations
from high-pressured sales people who often harass

set foot on the campus they represent, nor do

these sales people will never refer a school unless
the school pays an admissions fee.
Unfortunately, when tricked into using the placing
agency sales people the parent thinks they are
receiving good advice… in reality they are
fooled into sending their child to the wrong school.
Basically, web site operators hope to taking advantage
of unsuspecting desperate parents by selling their
information to high-pressure sales organizations
who referring only to the highest bidding school.
