Inpatient treatment for drug abuser
The inpatient programs are mainly use to prevent
the teenagers from addiction. The most commonly
services through inpatient program are detoxification,
rehabilitation and residential services to the
treatment of alcohol or poly-drug abuse. The process
of detoxification is completed after 4 to 6 days.
Benzodiazepine or other medication, acupuncture
and supportive counseling are used to assist in
withdrawal. The rehabilitation programs are committed
on 4-8 weeks or in some cases even longer. The
Inpatient Treatment Program can provide the structure
and safety that can help lead the person back
to comfortable, controlled living. In addition,
by living in the hospital as an inpatient, the
individual receives the benefit of 24-hour care
and the increased support of a peer group.
Mostly teenagers are facing mental illness in
response to poor treatment. So they are running
through the inpatient program. Inpatient programs
for clients with dual disorders integrate mental
health treatment, substance abuse interventions,
housing and other supports. Ten controlled studies
suggest that greater levels of integration of
substance abuse and mental health services are
more effective than less integration. The detoxification
process has limited services so it is forwarded
to rehabilitation services and further to residential
services. The residential services help to characterize
important program elements, to establish methods
to improve engagement into and retention in residential
programs and to clarify which clients benefit
from this type of service.
The inpatient programs are typically residential
treatment center in which home like setting takes
place. The treatment atmosphere is similar to
that of a healthy family where everyone is involved
and participating in a caring, gentle and loving
manner to the teenager. The primary goal of inpatient
program is that all patients find recovery. Most
of the counseling staff are themselves in recovery
and wish to share the miracle of new life and
freedom from harmful addictions. The teenagers
are initially admitted to the hospital unit of
the treatment center. At this time the medical
staff carefully monitors patients to ensure a
safe withdrawal from alcohol and/or drugs. And
after the teen withdrawals alcohol, they start
their further treatment.
