How Music Affects Teens
Music has a impact on everybody. Most normal people, listen to music, of some kind. Everyone has a particular genre of music they are interested in. Mine happens to be Alternative Rock. In Byers the most three popular genres are Alternative, Rap, and Country.
Most teenagers, go with the popular trend of music to listen to. Peoples friends, lifestyles, and backgrounds also affect what kind they listen to, and how it reflects on them. A lot of teenagers listen to Alternative or Rap, which both are popular at this time. A lot of older people, tend to like Country, and Classic Rock. People of different ethnic groups, may listen to music from their native land. Mexicans, may listen to Latin, and Chinese people may listen to techno. As I said before lifestyles and backgrounds affect peoples interests.
Music has inspired many people. Both in good ways and bad. In bad examples, after Nirvana's front man Kurt Cobain committed suicide, a lot of his followers committed the same act. Now critics say that Alt. and Metal music inspire people to do insane acts, and commit acts of terror. However the heavy rock genre inspires a lot of teenagers to pursue their music careers. Christian music has inspired people that were living bad lifestyles to be saved. Music may inspire people in different ways, but I feel that people should not look down on one type of music just cause they don’t like it.
